As our name implies, Katahdin Shadows Motel is nestled in the shadow of our states most magestic and awe inspiring Mount Katahdin. Located in the rustic rural community of Medway Maine, Katahdin Shadows Motel offers travelers and outdoor enthusiasts an inexpensive alternative to the "typical" motel. Situated directly on the banks of the West branch of the Penobscot River, we offer a variety of water borne activities; canoeing, kayaking, small boat rentals and great Smallmouth Bass fishing. 
For the patient wildlife observer we have Loons, a variety of duck species, Bald Eagles, beaver, otter and an occasional moose or deer. Don’t forget your camera!   
Although small in size, (just 10 rooms), we are big on amenities. Katahdin Shadows Motel offers a variety of bedding configurations; full, queen, full and twin, two full and even rooms with two sets of bunk beds. Other features include air conditioning, color cable TV, refrigerators in each room, a fully equipped community kitchen, a heated outdoor pool, picnic tables and fireplace overlooking the river. 
During winter months enjoy the region’s most exciting past time on some of the best snowmobile trails in the Northeast. We’re located directly on ITS 83 so you can sled right from your doorstep! The Katahdin Region also offers some of the best cross-country skiing in the Northeast. Trail heads for local cross-country skiing, (which is free of charge), are as close as two miles. Enjoy miles of well-groomed trails and return for a relaxing soak in our hot tub.
